Joey Jackson attended law school at Hofstra University on Long Island. While in law school, he served on Hofstra’s National Moot Court and Trial teams. In addition, he served as an editor of Hofstra’s Labor Law Journal, received a New York University Law School Public Interest Fellowship and a Bronx Bar Association scholarship.
While a law student, he was appointed to serve on community board #12 in the northeast Bronx by then Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer. After law school, he was appointed by Robert M. Morgenthau as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan where he later received the Criminal Justice Public Service Award from the New York County Lawyers Association.
Joey Jackson formerly served as Chair of the Bronx County Democratic Committee and Vice Chair of Community Board #12. He is the former recipient of the Williamsbridge branch NAACP Thurgood Marshall Public Service Award. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Monroe College on Fordham Road where he teaches Business Law & Civil Rights Law.
