Biography

Jenell Renee Ellison, Esq. is a Brooklyn native who has always had a passion for law and litigation. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Jenell worked at the Brooklyn Family Court in the Family Court Legal Division at the Administration for Children's Services, as well as both the Baltimore County and City Circuit Courts. There, through her job as a courtroom clerk, Jenell observed hundreds of trials and developed a love for the courtroom. Soon after, Jenell was given the opportunity to become a Legal Assistant for the Violent Crime Division at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland, all while attending law school part time in the evenings. She became a litigator at heart.

After graduating from law school, Jenell began her career at the Kings County District Attorney's office as an Assistant District Attorney for the Red Zone, then moved on to the Department of Correction as an Agency Attorney for the Trials and Litigation Division.

Jenell believes that it is important for her peers to understand the law and their rights, and she has dedicated her career to advocating on their behalf.

Jenell is the proud daughter of two retired parents from the Department of Correction, and the first in her family to obtain a law degree.
